In which Marvin vents over the predatory demands of his minister and the sudden shift of plans with his "buddy" Pastor Jim. The pressures of the job seem to be getting to Marvin as we hear him lash out.

It sounds like your pastor is one of those who feels he must do the Holy Spirit's job for Him. You may need to help him understand the peace that there is when one "Lets go and lets God."
kj, seems that Marvin is drawn to the same sort of pastor. This one sounds more and more like the one from Long Island.
Y'know, Marvin, if you're doing two jobs... I think it would be entirely fair to ask for a salary that would reflect that. You mentioned you're getting SOME of Rachel's salary, but if you've entirely taken over her job to the extent it sounds like you have, in addition to your own, it's unfair to pay you less than she was earning.
If the pastor refuses, I'd say your good nature is being exploited. Being Christlike in bearing burdens is one thing, but being a doormat is another.
Also, your pastor seems to have some very mistaken ideas on homosexuality. Could you perhaps write him a memo enlightening him? Perhaps this would clarify why doing things like assuming all singletons over a certain age are queer is a bad idea.
